  i had a good life being raised as a jw child.

  Long Call With Elder: Doesn't Know About "Generations/Overlapping"

  i had a call with a good buddy......still an elder the other night.. when i mentioned generations/overlapping.......he had no clue what i was talking about.

  such a good man.......... but it doesn't matter.....they don't even realize what is being said to them; what is being done to them.

  a high stature elder in their organization....and he had no clue there was another change..... how the hell does this happen?.

  I think yes people have given up on making sense of it. The org is playing mind games using deceptive reasoning and most jws are lost and are just following the leader into crazyland. The org has played so many tricks they don't even know what they believe anymore. Nobody knows where new light begins and ends.

  coffee shop guy directed me to his thread...thank you so much everyone for your thoughts of support, it means a lot to have people who understand and show genuine sympathy.

  here's my experience so far.... my father dies monday night & my brother (nonjw) calls me to come home, when i arrive my father is still sitting on the couch- all the jw family is sitting in a semi-circle around him, my non jw brother is standing in the next room.

  no one is crying, no one is talking.

  I'm sorry to hear this although we all understand there really is death it doesn't make it any easiar. At least you had your brother and he had you to hold on to.

  I wish good things for you.

  although human beings are an unruly bunch and its not going to change anytime soon. The controlling of people's words and thoughts is a tricky matter when is it too much? We've all been through an extreme situation and we have to learn from that. So i don't know, personally I,m ok with the group I'm realistic and i won't place myself in judgement and demand everyone like me or listen to me and I'm not offended.

  Settle in and make yourself at home.

  the only friends i was able to keep were two of my bible studies who I discouraged from further interest in jws and one lady who left at the same time. Of course my husband who also left and that's it.

  Old return visits and bible studies are great sources for finding new friends

  i could go on and on about all the things i loved, but i'll keep it brief and just mention one, rather trivial thing: music.

  i love grunge and punk, and occasionally heavy metal, and can't listen to a lot of it as a witness..
